Any ideas for an DIY exhaust extraction system for the garage? I know I could just put a hose through the door but adding a fan to it makes a big difference. How about a decent size shop vac?

Tom, I had a friend who had a wood shop in his basement, he used an old kitchen range hood, uses 3 1/4 x10 duct. They are very cheep new and range from 160 CFM to over 400 depemding
on what you feel you need. He wall mounted it over his carving bench and ran the vent out the window. Anyway, just a thought.

Thanks, CatRandy, for the bilge blower idea. (I live on a sailboat in the winter, don't know why I didn't think of that)). I wonder if they are available in AC?
Tom, Range hood sounds promising too. Thanks.

Not sure what sizes are available, but there are booster fans that go into heater ducts.
