Exhaust Clamps a Tight Fit [pics]

These are clamps for a Hog but they fit my exhaust pipes. You can see they are a tight fit. I was thinking I could replace the center bolt with a bolt slightly longer. Has anyone had this issue or are the clamps too small?

+1 on the too small.

Moss sell stainless band clamps for exhaust; might want to try those. 1.5" up to 2" by the 1/8in, I think. About $4ea.

I use a couple of the Moss clamps. They are nice, but I don't think you can get as much clamping force as ones like Miser is trying to use. The screw and band is just lighter weight.

The idea of the HD clamps you have is that the bands will pull up tight to the solid spacer piece, so it does look like you need bigger clamps.

Don posted a link for some in his thread.

Actually I stole the thread from Miser.
Got my Jegs clamps for the headers yesterday

Don,looking at your pics the clamp is still very gappy.Iwould use a longer bolt to snug up and see what it looks like. After setting you may be able to use original bolt.

I never had them on the pipes.
Tell me what they look like
