Hi Everyone

I have purchased a 75 MGB with st header,a middle muffler and straight pipes at the rear. I find it too noisy for the street.

Does anyone have Ideas on what system I should put on, that does not restrict too much and sounds good.

thanks Brian

I'm a major fan of going to your local independant muffler shop and taking their advice. If you tell them what you want it to sound like they can advise you

I had an ansa exhaust system on my 75 B and found that it was to loud at cruising speed, so when it came time to change I bought a stock MGB system and it sounds great.Hope that helps.

If you find a system you are happy with would you please post the type, make etc. I need to replace mine also and am procrasting repairing it yet again. I should get some figures and costs before it becomes amajor issue.
Thanks

Brian,

It seems to me that a simpler and cheaper solution is to get a second muffler (we used to call them "resonators") for the back position, as the car was originally equipted. I am sure that your local muffler shop can do it, even if you might need to get the part from Moss or some such source. I know most Midas shops do custom pipe work at a reasonable cost. They just did a great job on a friend's 78 GMC

On second thought...I'll trade you a less than one year old stock system for yours! My neighbor behind me (and directly in line with the tailpipe when I back out of the garage) is the Chief of Police and likes to sleep in on Saturday mornings. I'll get his butt moving!
