Off to N. Alabama in the morning for the finish work on Miss Agathas paint and such.

Back over the weekend sometime I think.

See ya tomorrow afternoon, Jack...I've gotta run over to look at my driver door problem.

I'm thinking since its Ash Wednesday maybe we'll do Cajun tomorrow night at my favorite little hole in the wall restaurant!

Tony, I spoke with Rick today and plan on driving up to Owens Crossroads and it looks like we might be there about the same time...hope we get to meet. Rut

That'd be a day late for many of us! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Still, wish I could hook up with you guys!

Small delay, waiting for the weather to pass before I head out.

Jack

Safe journey, are you picking up the future little monster?

Pat

Future little monster?? Just fixing what paint was not done quite right first time around.

Awe heck the engine.

Pat

Still working on head and carbs for that. Is going to be awile. Maybe next fall.

Sounds good, I hope everthing works out well.

Jack got here early this evening...we went out & had fried pickles, shrimp, french fries & good N'Awlins bread....then we hung around in the GarageMahal until about 9:30 when he decided it was an hour later here than in Florida.....Miss Agatha is also tucked in for the night at my place...tomorrow morning we take her to the body shop.

They're a great appetizer. Here's a basic recipie:

Ingredients:
Vegetable oil for frying
1 cup self rising cornmeal mix
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
2 cups dill pickle chips, well drained

Directions:
In a deep fryer or a large Dutch oven, with a deep frying thermometer, heat to 360F.
In a shallow bowl, stir together cornmeal mix, flour and black pepper.
In another bowl, combine egg and milk. Dip dill chips in milk mixture and roll in cornmeal mixture. Fry pickles in batches for about 3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

But the Cajun restaurant we went to does theirs a bit differently, I'm sure. We had Key Lime mayonnaise as a dip but you could use Ranch salad dressing or most anything you liked.
