Ever seen wire wheels like this before?

I was at Silverstone last month taking photos and spotted some very interesting wire wheels on one of the competition cars. Can any of you guess which type of car they were on?

I think they may be so that you can use Tubeless tyres, but I can't remember who makes them.

I've seen them on both an Aston Martin (DB3S?__not really up on all the AM racing models...) and a Ferrari 275 GTB-C (Competitzione), so apparently they were available from Dunlop as well as Borrani.

When I replaced the wire wheels on BN6L-942, I tried to get the polished alloy rims, but Dayton was no longer able to "punch & dimple" the spokes holes like they once could, so settled for the (chromed) steel center-laced set. I saw a set of Borranis on a BN7 years and years ago, and they were beautiful.

The color in Derek's picture sure looks a lot like the DB3S color, but I've never seen wires laced externally like that.

You guys are correct. The car was an Aston Martin. I'm not an expert on the marque so not sure if its was a DBR1 or DBR3S. Tow photos below show the Silverstone car and also one at Sebring in period and wearing the same wheels.
