All right. Posted dumb question on Page 2 of the
Triumph forum, something like: Should I stay with
stock rear springs TR6?

This has been discussed ad nausem on the forum, I know,
but with over 7,000 users on the forum, I thought I'd
get a great poll yes or no. That hasn't been done yet.

Bartender, I'll have another Crown Royal...and make it a
double.

Mickey, you out there? Can this be deleted?

Dennis -

I'm not sure I'm seeing the post you're referring to. At any rate, a discussion about springs/ride height is always a good one, and generates a lot of posts.

Now if it would only generate an answer hehehehhe

Actually the responses that it generated were all positive on stock springs, but pointed out that the springs are but part of the system.

The question that has to be answered is how do you plan on driving the car. If you want a better handling car for more spirited driving then stiffer springs deserve consideration. If you plan to cruise around in a more relaxed manner, then original springs will probably be fine.

You asked the question in a very subjective way. How would WE know what YOU would like? I can tell you why I wouldn't put stock springs back into my TR6. But it has everything to do with where and how I drive the car.

Now if you started an actual poll to see how many use stock springs and how many use uprated... then that might get a higher response. But then again, the low number of positive stock spring responses might have already answered that question? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

The second post on heavy duty springs and ride height sure generated more responses.

Mine have had NOTHING to do with springs. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

2wrench, so much so i lay in bed at night with the covers over my head just waiting for the basil/editor reid posting police enforcers to come crashing through my front door! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

Haha, Basil has one of those door bashers.

The are no bad questions. I am glad you brought up the subject.
I have spent time and money making my car look the way I wanted. Questions like yours bring out answers.
Asking the question is more than 50% of the battle. You will be offered many options.
I will try to post my car before and after.
The before is when I purchased the car, it sat up too high
and had the wrong camber.
Then I changed the springs and shocks, etc. to get it to look and HANDLE.

This is the before.
and now for the after.
