Not sure where to post this, so if it should be somewhere else, let me know! :smile:

This afternoon we were out and about and came across an estate sale. My wife went in first and came back a short time later and said "You need to go in and check out the basement." So I did and Happy Day! Several tables full of models and model kits. :laugh: It was right at the end of the sale so I knew I was the last one and I had my pick. Lots of prewar model kits - still sealed! My favorites! Also several British models - diecasts and kits. MG's, a Land Rover, a TR3, 1/16 scale Jaguar SS100, and others. I knew I wasn't especially interested in many of them but that folks here probably would be.

Let me know if this is the right place or if I should place a listing in the ads, etc.

My apologies again if this isn't the proper place.
 
Ok, thanks! I'm picking up the lot tomorrow and will put something in the classifieds with pics and a link here in the pub.

I surely would be int. in "DIECAST" only & only 1/18th scale or larger.

I`m looking for a "TD or TF" (I have a "TC") / "Series I or 2 Jag E-Type Rdstr. (No Coupes), (I`m curious about the 1/16th Jag you have) / Lastly, a "356A Speedster" (Not a "D" or "C").

I may be interested in a die cast RB MGB.

And while I am on the subject, how come there are no 1/24th kits of MGAs, BGTs, series 3 Etypes, Sprigets.... I can get several versions of kits of just about any "merican car from the 60s or 70s, but except for a very few, and hard to find kits, LBCs are almost ignored. I have one of every Etype I can find, and almost all are of very early series 1 cars. It would be easy enough to convert one to a later series 1, but later than that, no go. There are some good TR2 and TR3 kits, but no TR4,5, or 6s. I think that the manufacturers are missing a bit of the market.
 
You have to look very hard to find models of these cars. You're best bet as far as I am aware will be 1/43rd scale resin and white metal kits. These tend to be rather pricey as they are made in small quantities, often by hand. I don't recall any specific manufacturers off hand.
 
I'm interested in any MG models - regardless!
 
1/43rd kits are OK, and I have most of those cars represented that way. I LIKE to build in 1/24-1/25th scale. There is more opportunity to detail, and truth be told, it is a bit easier on my just about 50yr old eyes. Also, I have been building cars, trucks and trailers for a long time with the view to making a really large vintage race diorama. I have tracked down some built kits from Merit in the 50s like lotus 11, cooper 500, and the like. I just want to fill out the field properly. Gotta have a dream.....
Besides, back in my youth, I owned a renault R8 gordini. I even have a kit of THAT, and I know more MGAs, and BGTs were around thaan that thing.

I have a resin body made by American Plastics of an MGB/GT in 1/24th scale made to fit the Ayoshima kit. I also have a 1/24th scale Vintage Revell 1/24th scale MGA. THey are out there...you just have to look.

dang, Deja Vu. I swear a couple of guys were talking about this at the show on Sat.
 
Gosh, Peter, I sure hope there were boxes and boxes of the stuff after this enthusiastic response!!! :jester:
