Escort Progress

Progress on the Twin-Cam Escort to date.

I bought new brake hoses today, which brings my total out-of-pocket cost for this thing to about $200.
Plus a ton of sweat-equity.
I did a lot of this work in the last few weeks.
Took me a day or so to pull off all the stupid GT "aero-cladding" and rear wing. About 40 lbs of nonsense.

I'm putting the harnesses and the transponder in it tomorrow and hoping to run it at Pocono in two days.

Looks really good Nial, and it even came with a couple small dents so you won't be all nervous about getting the first one /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
Are you going to run both cars this weekend??

Looks good, Nial, though that seat looks a little harsh!

I had a wagon version of this car when I graduated from college. Funny to think of one as a race car, but for $200 I'd say you'll have a whole bunch of fun. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I've got the same seat in my '68 MGB GT!

Is it legal to do some 'lightening' of those bumpers, Nial? You'd probably lose 150 or so pounds there.

Yes. We can remove the understructire and then put back the plastic bumper cover. But I ran out of time before yesterdays event, so I left them as is.

Besides, there's lots of Hondas in our class and these bumpers may come in useful for "thinning the herd". /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
