I ran across this on the highway. I've never seen one like it.
Can you guess who made the car / top?

WOW! That is lovely, but I don't have a clue as to what it is.

Sunbeam?

I'd like to put in a claim for being my GT6's Grandpa, if no one else wants it.

That is very pretty though I'd rather see it with a Healey or jag 120 nose than a Saab. Still...

The interesting part is the top. They didn't make coupes. This is a one-off, done by a the owner of a local Volvo dealership (Sommer Volvo) Ole Sommer back in the early 50's. He is also known for several other strange vehicles like the Amazon coupe:

and my favourite the Joker:

He now has a museum on the top floor of the dealership, but this Jowett coupe is in private hands, apparently doing the show circuit.

Ah, that would explain my inability to find pictures of a similar vehicle! :wall:

Neat... Another hidden gem of the automotive world

I recognized the front end of the Jupiter but knew it had to be a custom job of some sort, Ole Sommers certainly sounds like an interesting fellow, meantime here in Calgary we have no interesting automotive stuff like this at all...
