Engine Storage Stands

I saw a post from Bugeye about having engines on stands. Does anyone have plans for an engine stand that I can store my daugher's Midget motor on. This would get it off the stand I use to rebuild motors.

Bruce, I've got one storage stand that is nothing more than a piece of 2" black pipe welded to a base plate, with a plate on top drilled for the bolt pattern on the block. Nothing fancy, but it gets the engine off the floor and out of the way.
Or, you could just buy one of the $40.00 HF specials. I've got some of those I use for roll around storage.

From the "Quick 'n Dirty" Department:

Two of my "spares" are on 1" angle iron "trucks": the caster wheeled type that moving companies use. Roughly 18"x30".

3/4" plywood cut to fit the contour of the flywheel end of the engine keeps it upright. A few more pieces of 2"x2" are needed to steady the Alfa engine, but it's top heavy.

I am going to go to the local hardware and look. They have a furniture moving dolly for less tha $20. Put 2X6 on it, and it may be perfect.

Or, one of the HF movers dollies. They go for 20 bucks. I don't think you could buy 4 casters for a homebuilt stand for 20 bucks.

Get an old shopping cart, cut the basket part off so all thats left is the tubular base...Then bolt nice strong peice of plywood to it.....I've got my TC motor on one right now, works great!
