1969 MGB Rdstr sputtering upon acceleration. Engine holds steady idle set a 1000rpm. Sputtering occurs when engine is reved to clear. Too rich fuel mixture? Thanks in advance for your help

Welcome to BCF. Many possible causes of sputter/miss on acceleration:

I'd check (1) fuel flow and fuel levels in carb bowls, (2) crud/sediment in fuel filter(s), (3) ignition (spark plug gap, timing, failing coil and/or condenser, (4) distributor rotor and wires.

How long have you had the car? When did the problem first start? Any changes made just before the problem started?
