General Tech Engine Speed Reference Hall Effect Mounting Point - Need Advice

Hello! Has anyone installed a replacement speedo that requires an engine speed reference pulse.
My new speedometer (Marshall Instruments) requires an engine speed reference pulse. I bought a Hall-Effect sensor
on Amazon and need ideas for where to mount it. I was thinking somewhere near the crankshaft pulley or even the water pump or alternator
pulley. Would appreciate your thoughts on this.Thanks

Although your proposed locations for a Hall-effect sensor would be correct for use with a tachometer, a speedometer would need a signal from the rotating driveshaft.
