Engine rebuild-anyone use Brit tek kits before?

Well, my motor developed some catostrophic impediments to properly running today /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif

I will be rebuiling it, with the help from my mechanic as I handle the watching, waiting and the bills part of the whole affair. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Brit tek kits before? I'm thinking of the major rebuild kit with 1950 size pistons, a performance cam, and the major head kit along with porting/polishing. Any thoughts and any words from those who've used the kits?

Thanks.

although I've not used one personally, I've heard nothing but good things about parts from Brit Tek. Gerry Masterman built a 1950 and wishes he hadn't. I believe he had to go through about 3 blocks before he found one that would accept that overbore. his story is here: https://www.theautoist.com/1950ccengine.htm

Matt,

I used one of Bobs kits on my rebuild, but not the 1950 size one. Bob sells quality parts and his service and advice are top notch, nothing but good things to say about him and his company.

I used brittek as well for my rebuild and they get nothing but a godzilla sized thumbs up from me. Very helpfull before and after the sale.

I just bought a Weber carb and the rear spring kit. Both were top notch and the service was very good too.
