Engine Paint

Going to pull the engine on our 1960 BN7 this winter to do a little work (lighten flywheel, retool the key on the damper pulley, rebuild carbs, sort through the transmition).

How many cans of spray paint would one need to do the engine and transmission, leaving a little for touch-up at a later date? Is this the best way to go about repainting, or should I colour match it and have something else mixed up locally?

Thanks

It will take four cans of aerosol paint for a 2 coat system on the engine and transmission. The Moss product will give you pretty much what the factory produced. If you want something better take a clean part ie. rocker cover to you local automotive coatings supplier for a color match in a 2K urethane. Or you can up grade to aluminum finishes.
