Engine is in!

My sister Mary is in town this weekend, and I mentioned to her that she could help install the motor in the Tunebug. Today was really windy and not a good outside day, so we tackled the install.

Mary, my wife Jenny, and I worked hard at it for about three hours and got everything installed and bolted down. A few stupid moments (like the transmission mount on backwards) and everything was in. DId manage to scratch the valve cover, but such is life.

I still wonder how you manage to get "females" to work on a car. I have two at home and the most they would ever consider doing is watching tv and letting me go out and work on the cars.

Hey Drew, where did you connect your tilt-lift on the engine? I have the same thing, but not sure where a good mounting point is.

I wound up using one of the bolts that holds down the thermostat, and one of the bolts holding the tranny to the engine. Next time I'll switch that last one for the rear-most manifold stud, as my tilt lift scratched the valve cover since the cable was too close to the cover.
