Hey all,
Just checking to see if I am correct that the alumninum engine ID tag on a BN2 is left in the aluminum color, i.e. not painted Healey green engine paint color ?
Thanks,
Mike

Engine color.

Double-checked this in the Austin Healey Originality Guidelines (concours)

$20 via the healey.org website gets you a CD-rom with searchable pdf files.

Thanks Bert ! Got the Moment/Anderson book but must have missed about
the tag being painted. Figured it was since everything was painted at the same time. Think I'll get on the club website and order the CD !

If it was done this way, then surely there would be a bare patch of firewall under the plate.
Would have thought car was painted completely and plate not attached until motor etc installed, this could mean that motor not assigned to car as surely paint color run would dictate motor assignment, and would anyone go back and hand paint a pop rivetted ID plate? - time is money, and they needed the cash flow.
