Engine Hoist Bracket

Had to move an extra sprite engine from the garage out to the spare roller & then pulled my Midget engine. It only took about an hour tops, with my daughters. I just picked up the engine hoist from pep boys. Works great. I am on my way!

That looks like a clever idea. I don't quite see how it's held down by the valve cover studs.

Oh yea, I have been doing that for years. I even have one for a big healey. You can even have lifting points in a couple of spots for use based on whether or not you are pulling the transmission too.

Just remove the valve cover & re-use nuts. They are actually hollow bolts that screw onto existing studs. The two holes in the center are clearance holes for the other 2 studs that hold the valve train down. Each of these studs is @ 3" on center so it was easy to make. The only change I would do in the future is to use 3/16" angle instead. There is slight distortion in the bracket but very minor. I used it twice in the same day & no problems.
