Engine & head serial numbers

Hello all:
At one time I had seen a listing for engine & head serial # production dates, but I can't seem to find it.

My current 250 Comm # CD6693L has engine # CC6652E, my spare engine, supposedly out of a 250 is CC224E, must be a very early engine.

thanks for any info.

p.s. which # on the head is the ser #?, there are many.

I believe that the six-digit number STAMPED on the head would be the serial number for that head, and the number represents the part number for a head assembly completed to certain specifications (height, helping define CR; valves & guides, etc.).

Thanks, anyone have more specific info, cr, date of manufact, etc?
