What is the correct color for a 1972 MGB engine? Burgundy? And If so does anyone know the paint code for it?

Black. Dark Red was discontinued in 1971. But unless you're building a concourse show car, I would suggest something a bit more fun, and visible than black.
 
Black is the proper color. As was said, 71 was the last year for the "red" engine. Black looks great in a red car. Also the oranges, tans, etc,etc. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gifPJ
