Engine Code Help

I an the new owner of a 1975 MGB. The engine had been modified with a Weber DGV, Mallory dual point, and header. the metal ID tag on the engine appears to be a original style with held on with the round head rivets however the numbers are different than anything I have been able to find.
The nos. are 48G733 ET17876 (raised letter stamps)
There is a AA stamped below that number that is depressed letters.
Any Experts/Historians out there that can tell me what I have.
Engine seems very tight (150 lbs +-3 in all cyl and great oil pressure. Car only shows 38K miles and contact with 2 previous owners (spanning the previous 10+ years) indicates that it might be accurate.

Sorry, can't help you with this one, but noted that you have Mallory Dual Point. How do you like it? I need to replace my distributor soon (72 B) and would rather not go electronic.

Any comments appreciated.
