Mickey picked it up to save it from the crusher, and Joel brought it down, right to the door. He and his but set it out of the trunk onto my roll around stand. Boy that was easy, they even brought their own gloves. What super service, thanks guys.

So I took them to lunch on the beach and we watched the waves and the girls.

Engine is missing a valve cover and a timeing chain cover. If anyone finds an extra give me a shout.

Otherwise looks preaty good for a 40 plus year old lump.

It is free, turns easly. Looks like standard pistons in it. In any case no marking on the tops showing size. Is missing timeing gears and chain and lifters but they will be new anyway so not an issue at all. No telling what the bottom end looks like as it is too darn hot for me out there.

In anycase no rush at all this will be a hot spare as I get time and a buck or two. Expect it to take a year or so.

Lightened flywheel
Paint with correct color and clearcoat

Maybe it won't leak, ya, lots of luck.

The idea is to have it all look like stock on the outside. I know the carbs will give it away but no one knows what they are looking at that close but for you guys.

Good find, Jack. what size is the motor?

Glad it got there, Jack, but where's my lunch?!

Thanks, too, to Mike for the donation!

Mickey

Hehe, of course mike for the donation of the engine. Thanked him when he passed it on.

I am very pleased with what I got. A 948 orginal and looks like never rebuilt.

valve and timing chain cover in the same auction!

That folks is not a Bugeye ie 948 valve cover or timeing chain cover. Me thinks 1297.

However it was a good catch, thanks Bill.

Jack, my 1275 came with a 948 valve cover. When I get home from work I'll shoot you a picture, see if it's what you're looking for.

Oh, very good. Surely do appreciate Dan.
