Engine 100/4

David:

e-Bay, watch and wait. I looked today, there is a bn1 transmission with OD and 100-4 cylinder head. Also, join both Healey clubs and put a parts wanted ad in their publications. Be patient, these parts are rare and most likely very expensive.

Austin Atlantic and some Austin cabs used the same engine with different manifolds and carburetors.

Good luck!

Try British auto salvage in Macedon NY, he may have what you need.

If you can't find one, make an amazing nasty boy!
If all else fails, this could still come in costing less than a 100 engine + a new aluminum cyl head (likely reqd) and the remainder of a rebuild...

Of course, you'll want one of these too; again, not much off what a GOOD rebuild (parts + labor) would cost on an original.

If you can't find one let me know. I will have a complete drive train for a BN1 when I'm done restoring mine. Not interested in selling it but I might be interested in buying your car.

Cheers,
Dan M.

A buyer would need to check that the front plate and timing gears are available with the Craigslist engine. Looks to have the correct cylinder head. Many Healeys have an A70 head fitted, but maybe not in the US where the A70 was not so common.

Hi Guys,
Anybody have any idea where to start on finding an engine for a 100/4 with trans and OD? Any help appreciated....
There is an engine listed in the current "Austin Healey" magazine (The club mag for AHCUSA) but it has been listed since January, so I don't know if it's still available (They aren't real good at pulling your ad when you're done) I didn't bring it with me today, but I can copy the contact info listed tomorrow.

Cheers,
Dan M.
