"Enduring Echos..."

We all endure, do what we must.

Hold your loved ones close.

...just a casual observation on my part.

doc, in 1991 my mom gave her god child my cousin "D" a baby shower, after cleaning up the house she gave my dad who stayed up to watch t.v. a kiss goodnight and went to bed, my dad followed her up stairs a short time later and fell asleep, when he woke in the morning he thought it strange she was still sleeping since it was her habit to get up early and make breakfast, he tried to wake her by gently puting his hand on the side of her face and found she was cold, just three days before my wedding, she was 63 years old, yes, tell the ones you love you do so, and hold them close. -- i always do. :yesnod:

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

Interesting, the timing of several of the posts this weekend. All Saints' Day/All Souls' Day.

Curious, ain't it, how the mind works?

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

Not to worry, my sermon's already written for today!

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

Mickey, how in the world do you write a sermon for every week of every year. Can they be recycled some?

OH, I'd NEVER do that! :jester:

Actually, once you establish a rhythm, it's not too difficult. The hard part is not to be too redundant...

Or repetitive...

Or say the same thing over and over...

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

To get us back on track...

"Where the ghosts of his father and his brother are near
They protect him and tell him there's nothin' to fear."

Buffett's got a good message there...

4 hours alone in a TR8 with the top down produces some pretty good sermons, I'd bet!

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

Mickey , do you ever quote Mr. Buffet on an occasional Sunday?

Not yet, but Doc has begun to enlighten me!

Have quoted Dylan - "Shelter From the Storm" is a great one.

Also Phil Collins - "Another Day in Paradise" - did a whole sermon on that one.

John Lennon - "Imagine".

And of course, U2 - just about anything they've done!

Find the one he and Aaron Neville did together. "Middle of the Night" I believe. It'll put a shiver down yer back.

I wish I could have heard that one.
A lot of people consider that a socialist song.
I personally like it and the message.

John Lennon was a brilliant musician; I own a John Lennon signature guitar. However, that's all I got to say about that!

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

There are certain songs whose lyrics carry a message, and I must say that Mr Buffett has written more than a few. Most talk about positive attitude, some about living simply, and others just tell an entertaining story, true or not.

At the end of the day they are just songs, nothing more. We each take from them what we need and move on.

Rather like Mickey with his sermons

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

"Jimmy Dreams"

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

Steve, "they are just songs, nothing more"???

My friend; songs are words that can convey emotions, words and emotions unite people and nations...

Battles have been fought(Battle Hymn of the Republic) Lives have been transformed(Amazing Grace) just to name a couple of results of "songs"....

Re: "Enduring Echos..."

Ron;

Songs are just words. It is our perception of those words that makes them special.
If words could evoke emotion, the dictionary would be the best read ever!

And one John Lennon quote I like, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".
