Emission control & canister

Recent threads have discussed the emissions control, age of vehicle etc, and I want my carbon canister gone as well as the heater.
Unfamiliar with the North American engines as European, I see a snakes wedding of pipes and tubes coming from the manifold, the breather in the rocker cover, the heater, the carbon monstrosity and everywhere.
Has anyone else dumped their canister, and or heater and the associated pipework, and if so, what happened with the tubes?
The heater in my mind is pointless, I'll never drive it in winter. The emissions control is pointless because with a turn of the screw on the carbs I can pollute or not.
What do I do with these holes and pipes when these things go away?
One obvious concern is the fuel vapor. It is a 12CJ.

Ah,
Zimmy, you are a gem.
Do you have a vented gas tank?
For that matter, do you have an oil cooler?
If I could get a shot from above so I can compare my tubes to your empty space, I would know where I can divert to and from. Cheers Zimmy, it does help.
PS I love the shiny black thermostat house.

plug the carb hose(s).....leave the valve cover open....
unhook the tank vent...not much to it really.......z

my engine is the same as your, even the carbs, I marked up your picture, sprayed out your red and added my red. I'll post a second pic in a minute of my engine

Shucks guys, that really does help. I'll be getting a new valve cover sans breather over the winter, but this looks great. Pics are worth a thousand.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
