Was out driving the Midget today when someone in a Blazer started to turn in front of me. The Midget did very well. The brakes locked almost instantly from 45 mph. Then soon as I let off the car immediately regained its tracking and I managed to miss him by a good foot. If I had been in my Ford Escape, I'm pretty sure I would have smacked into him. Of course, if I had been in the Escape he probably would have seen me and not try to turn in.

"Missed him by that much".

Breath in-----------Breath out.

Good miss. Glad it worked out for you.

Glad it was a miss and not a hit. Good reactions and a nimble car -- a good combination for safety.

Same thing happened to me today when in my 64 sprite. Similiar evasive action though not as close by the sound of it. Then the bimbo glared at me like it was my fault for being on the road!! I guess when you're driving a gas guzzling, road hoggin, SUV little cars arn't supposed to get in your way!

Kurt.

Had a near miss myself last night... though this one was my own fault. I let my attention drift and looked up into a pair of glowing brake lights. I was able to hit the brake hard until I heard a chirp, let it off a touch then mash it again. It made for a very fast very controlled stop. I think I am getting better at this driving thing... well except for the whole "paying attention to the car in front of you" part.
