I know this has been problably covered before, but does someone have a list of emergency parts that a TR6 owner would have stashed for a long road trip?
Thanks, Kevin

I carry a lot of stuff when more than 100 miles from home (outside the free towing area). Some just carry a cell phone and the AAA card.

Here is a (MG) thread from awhile back that may give you some ideas... it's really a matter of personal preference, how much space you want to devote to this, what repairs you can realistically take on in a motel parking lot, etc --

I don't see how you would anticipate more than a water pump, points, condenser, coil and fuel pump. I would not leave home with out good radiator hoses and knowing my heater valve is good. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

i carry cell phone and water. I've made a lot of long road trips with my tr7's, any problems that crept up I was able to handle (or not). I always figured that road trips are an adventure, if the car has to be trailered home, that's part of the adventure.

I carry the same parts as vettedog plus a fanbelt. Both TRF and Moss offer next day shipping -- if the part is in stock. I also carry a fairly complete tool roll. Over the years I have put on quite a bit of mileage travelling with the TR and have had to use each of the above at one time or another.

I don't have an Eastwood catalog in front of me, but they carry an amalgamated wrap that works great for electrical uses and also works excellent for damaged hoses. Seven layers of wrap will hold 100psi. It bonds to itself and constricts to the shape of the object you are putting it on.
Shelf life of 5 years. Looks like black electrical tape. It isn't a permanent fix, but will get you home.
