electrons wont flow

Ok project for the weekend is to get power flowing and see if any thing works. So far no blue smoke but no signs of life.

I've got power to the starter up to the alternator and to the bottom of the fuse box with the purple being hot. However if I turn the key to the on positions I no longer have power at the fuse box.

Any ideas where to start to look?

Never mind. I couldn't sleep so I headed back out to the garage and now I'm really regreting it. Cleaned up up all the conectors and spent a little more time with the multi meter. Then I made the mistake of turning the key and god help me the ignition light came on along with the fuel pump and promply sprayed the last of the foulist decomposing liquid dino dung known to man all over the front of the engine bay. This stuff is so bad I would rather take a full blown skunk attack at close range over this "gas". The garage is going to stink for a few days. Hopefully it will air out enough by the morning so I can start trouble shooting systems with out a gas mask.

Stewart - "The garage is going to stink for a few days." You will be lucky if the smell clears completely in a week. I just got a fuel pump with some of that foul decomposing liquid dino dung in it. The disassembled pump is now residing in the bed of our pickup truck in an open car port untilI am ready to dump it into a gallon can of carburetor cleaner.
Cheers,

Glass half full!!! Ya have working electrics!

...though I sympathise about the dinosaur wizz... HATEFUL stench.

Very nice progress, better the problems you know than the ones that leave you scratching your head.

I've got two remaining old gas tanks here and it stinks. I accidentally spilled some in my shoe and that was two wreaks ago. Fabreeze, bleach, sunlight, nothing is getting this stink out.

After I had my tank boiled out they put the old sender in a sealed ziplock bag. By the time I got home the stench in the car was unbearable. The sender was the culprit and it went strait in the trash but my truck stunk for over a week.

So far I've got the turnsignals working, brake lights work, dash lights up, hazzards only work on the left, horn works, marker lights are 50/50, fuel pump works. Headlights are still no op but the switch is funky however the highbeams are also inop.

Got the mount for the alternator fixed but thats about all I could get done as its to cold to work with the garage door up and the smell with it down is still unbearable.
