so turn signals, wipers, washer fluid, break lights just dont work. ignition turns on but started wont turns i get a click but nothing else. i dont know if its part of anything but the ignition light flashes unpredictably. some times when just the ignition is on others when im driving. i have the cowl off and want to teast the switches but dont know what im looking at. though i see a lose black wire from the harness to nowhere. fuses are good and the connections at the batt under the car are clean. did that a few weeks ago.?????

Will - Ok, you have the information on Paul Hunt's web site on how to correct bad connections, now go to Advance Auto Wire https://www.advanceautowire.com/ scroll down and click on Stock Schematics, then MGB. Print out the wiring diagram for your car (or better, copy the file on a flash drive, take it to Kinko's and have them make a full size print and laminate it). You will then have not only the instructions from a very knowledgeable electrical expert, but also a road map of where you need to start.

Thank you Dave for the info on MGB wiring diagrams. I did just as you suggested today, Kinkos color printed and laminated the 1964-7 MGB wiring diagram (page 2) for me in 5 minutes. Total cost for the 11 x 17" document: $6.22.
 
i used a plotter to get a full siae sheet. had it hanging onmy wall all summer now its getting alot of attention. everything seems to be coming back to two things. 1 a brown wire under the colom has melted and now is totally fried. 2 power is going in to the ignition relay but not out. everything involved seems to draw off this. is there any way to see if its toast? at least now i am not so fearful of the wireing. just have a new idea of how everything is so connected.
 
A 12V test light can be your friend when trying to find out if electrons are going where ya want 'em to.
