Electric fan for Bugeye

Country flag
Offline
Does anyone have any experience with the 10 inch Hayden electric fan from Moss? I want to put it in my Bugeye, which is running. 1275 cc. Will it fit and does it help? Should I set it up to push or pull?
Thanks!

It may fit if the profile is narrow, can't be more than 2.48" wide or it will hit the steering rack as a puller. I'm using an 11" Spal 30101500 but it very close. As a pusher you shouldn't have any issues except if the fan operates as a puller it's more efficient.

What a coincedence. I just installed or as I should say had installed a 9 inch fan on my Bugeye with a 1275 yesterday. The fan is perfect as I can still keep the safety rod for the bonnet with a very slight bend of the rod.The switch to operate it was installed under the dash below the W switch for the windshield Wipers. The switch is completely out of sight, but easy to push to turn on the fan and pull to turn off. It also is very quiet. The radiator was pulled to make it easier to attach the fan. The fan that I got was recommended by Bill M. You also will have no trouble with the bonnet scraping the fan when you lift or put the bonnet down. I had a larger fan on my previous Bugeye and it was very loud. like I say this one is very quiet.
The fan was $24.95 with free shipping and no sales tax. The fan came on a Monday and I ordered it the previous Thursday.
Here is the site where I bought it.

I like this 9" fan (Bill's above) because it has about 1/4" clearance on the Bugeye (about 1/2" more clearance than the 10" ) AND it can be installed on the box nose cars without removing the radiator (thru the grill)
This (9" fan) is installed as an AUXILIARY fan, not the primary one- it would not be big enough as the only fan in the system

I have a 10" as a backup. It is only needed on hot days in stop and go traffic and long stop lights.

I also only need the fan on really hot days and in slow stop and go traffic.
Besides looking at your fan I enjoyed the trip through your photo album.
