Elan oil pressure

Normal oil pressure for the Elan is 40 psi, according to the manual. Once my Elan (S1) has fully warmed up, the oil pressure drifts down to between 30 - 35 psi at full rev (3-4K RPM engine speed)and idles at about 20 psi. I would be interested to know how this compares to other Elans out there.
Thanks.

Now that you ask I can't remember exactly.. next time I run it I'll check.. I am pretty sure mine runs about 60 psi cold and over 40 hot, but I can't remember what the range is. I know you don't want it too high cause that will only cause seepage, but 20 sounds low..

Good question.. maybe I'm remebering it wrong..

I'll let you know.. It could be the relief is set higher on my new pump.. or not there at all. At any rate I have lots of pressure and no seepage..

How do you get to 60 psi?! The Elan's oil pressure system has a pressure relieve valve that cuts in at 40 psi.

oil pressure update.. Sits at 45 psi cold or hot..

comes down to 40 at idle warm..( slow idle )
