Elan 2+2 values

Too much, most of these old crocks require so much work that even if you got the car for free the restoration would be double the finished value. You, if anyone should know that considering the various vehicles you have been "playing" with. However in some situations it can be justified by scarcity, uniqueness, emotional ties etc. Bob

Unfortunately true. +2's are highly undervalued. Great cars, but not good for "investments".

They were milestone cars, first production car to be wind tunnel designed, a 0,27 drag coefficient, first Lotus not offered as a kit... none of that means much, apparently.

Ah yes, but you assuming I learn as I go. LOL.

Yeah, sad it seems on these. Very neat design. There is good project locally, but asking price doesn't work (for me anyway).

Thanks Bob!

Hi Doc! Was thinking driver, but I'd be in to it for $20k before I blinked I think. Not in the budget at this point to get hopelessly upside down on another one.

Thanks anyway!

And, accoring to a couple of Brit sports car magazines I read, values are rising on these Lotus models.

Maybe, just maybe, now's a good time to snatch one up . . . there's a lot to like about these lovely cars. :yesnod:

I must agree.

No doubt a super cool car. Local place is asking $7, and it needs everything. Assuming an engine rebuild $20k will vaporize almost immediately. I know it is apples/oranges but at $27k I'm buying a 911

Well, I may be off my head, but I've almost done as much as I want to the Europa, and I'm going to look at a +2 nearby that's for sale. If it's complete, and the price is right, I may buy it.

WOOHOO!!!

Might know someone in Fla.with a 69 +2 that might want to sell one

Might have to pay his heat bills

Are all S2 's coupes?

Yes all are coupes, however they have done conversions to DHC's. I know of only 2 in NA, one is in Canada, and the other was recently imported to the US and resides in Appleton WI.
