I've only heard about this one very informally, but have confirmed that it is happening...

It is a British Car Show in Edmonton, Alberta on June 18th, at the Muttart Conservatory (Glass Pyramids). It is held every two years so this year is your chance.

I'm planning to drive up from Calgary to take in the show (with my fantastic new Panasonic FZ4), anyone else thinking of being at the show?
 
Did anyone go?

After consulting the forecast (rain, rain, more rain) I elected not to go /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif especially when it's three hours drive up the highway to get there. A major bummer when we only get two British shows here in Alberta per year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif and that dang big rain storm picked this weekend of all weekends! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

It was absolutely pi**ing down with rain, quite British really, the event was well organized and the setting on the lawns of the Conservatory was perfect.
107 vehicles were there including about 20 motorbikes.
Lots of people in the rain enjoying the show.
Healeys, TR's, MG's, Jags, Rovers, Land rovers and a passel of minis. One DB and a TVR also.
I didn't know there were that many Brit cars in Edmonton
They started it off with a big Union Jack flag and singing God Save the Queen. That's quite acceptable here in Canada since it was (may still be?) our national anthem before Oh Canada was popularized.
I will post some pictures when I get them downloaded.

Well, I'll check it out again in two years... In the meantime you're duly invited in September down to Calgary to Stanley Park for the Brit/European show here...

I'm not sure I would have trusted my digital camera too much in heavy rain anyway, but there's more to life than just taking pictures I suppose.

Sherlock Of course it was a go. I said if it didn't snow I'd be there. No snow just lots and lots of rain. Welcome to Alberta. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF Over 100 cars and bikes there. We are a strange lot. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif Unfortunate the weather was so bad. I am sure there would have been 150 to 200 cars there, it is such a great location for a show. See you in September. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Graham... I did not see you there, of course didn't know who to look for. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I was the drowned one in shorts (always) and the black brelly. Sorry I missed you.
