Editing a post...

[hope this hasn't already come up]
I noticed that one cannot edit a post after it's been up for awhile (a few days?). Is that because of a post that might have come in after it? Curious.

I've been told its due to the level of time spent here on the forum. In other words, if you're brand new to the forum, you can't edit.
I'm not sure what the exact criteria is, but it seems to be a work in progress for Basil.

I've been on here a long time... and editing was an option with a recent post but was soon lost.

It's a setting and I have not had a chance to adjust it - but will. There are about a thousand differnt settings and permissions and I'm still adjusting / tweaking them. A time limit on being able to edit is one of t he things that can be set specifically for each level of membership.

OK, thanks. Yes, I'll bet there are a zillion things to do.

I just ran into this problem. Came back to a post 53 minutes after putting it up, saw some spelling errors, but could not correct. Glad to know it's not just me. I'm on another forum that used to have a 5 minute window for editing. That was tough sometimes, but it was like that for a good reason.

I see that the time to edit appears to have been significantly extended now (maybe?).
