Editing a movie with Movie Maker..

...Well, I guess it's more post-production.
I'm trying to smudge out (or at least make it unidentifiable) a license plate and I don't think the Windows Movie Maker has such a feature. If it does, please let me know.
If not, any other suggestions will be welcomed.
I just figured out how to do titles, so that's the level of competence I have with such software.... TIA!

It's a pretty basic program and I don't believe it offers such a feature. Effects can be applied to an entire frame, but not to a specific part and certainly not with tracking capability.

C'mon Rob, it's all I got! It's free.
Thanks Steve, looks like the good bits are hitting the trash....
I do have a Sony program, but it does the same stuff as Movie Maker.

Anything cheap (ish) on the market you guys know about?

Try searching for a freeware/Open Source Non-linear video editor... I found a site that lists a bunch of freeware/Open Source video editors:

https://tv.isg.si/site/?q=node/873

I've never tried any of the stuff listed there... so I have not clue on the capabilities of each.

My 14 year old daughter has been using this for about a year making goofy movies of her and her friends and brother. I just asked her about it and she has be trying to figure this out too. She says shes done it but edits it frame by frame. So depending how long it is that it is on screen and how many frames it uses it might take a lot of time. She still working on it.

Bingo Rob, you're awesome.
One of them (ZS4) has a polygon tracking thingy that looks like it'll do the job.
There's some good tools on that site!

I sent it to her so she can get it as well. Thanks.
