EBC Green Stuff brake pads

I have been running the EBC Green Stuff brake pads for about 6 months now and have to say that there are pluses and minuses. The really do make you stop better, period. Now that said, these suckers are way a mess. I have never seen so much brake dust in my life. Kinda getting used to grey Panasports! But, I guess I will live with grimey wheels if I can stop straight, true and quick. Also, I installed them without turning my discs. These new pads took any small visible irregularities out of my discs and made them smooth and shiney. I wonder how much wear they are putting on my discs? Oh well, new brake discs are cheap enough.

An aside, it is getting to that time of year to put my baby up in the air again to go over every nut and bolt in the car. Pulling wheels, lubing U-joints, changing brake fluid, checking suspension, on and on. One would be amazed how many things can rattle aloose in one of these cars over a year's time.

That's strange... we had EBC Green pads on the MCS and there was minimal dust... at least compared to the stock BMW pads, which produce copius amounts of dust. Currently running Mintex pads which are a bit dustier than the EBC's, but still worlds better than stock.

I used some 'guaranteed not to dust" pads from Moss (on the TR4 but expect the same are on offer for the '6). Impossible to say how their stopping compares to your greenies but they do indeed create very little dust compared to the stock pads I has been using. With the white steel wheels a little dust goes a long (& ugly) way.

DITTO TR6BILL. I was just looking at them last night and thinking I need to wash the car but all my hoses are put up for the winter! But they do work great!

Thank you for saying it Larry. I always thought that was 1 of the selling point for them. I would have a conversation with my supplier

Perhaps the dust you speak of is not from the pads but rather from the rotors as they are worn smooth by the pads.

Hi Larry,
Interestingly, the quote you pulled down looks like it might have come from the MGB page of the TRF website. The TR6 page makes no such claim. Hmmmm, I wonder if their is indeed a difference between the two. It seems that I do remember such a claim in their catalog last year about Panasports but they changed their tune. I called Dave at TRF and complained and typical of me I ended up apologizing to Dave for being such a pest. I guess the tradeoff is worth it because they do stop some-kinda-good.
