Well 7777, since you brought it up I wonder if the forum is going to get royalties.--Keoke-AZ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cowboy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: ebay stop an directional light

keoke, looks like they're claiming THEY came up with the idea. HAH! You would think they would come here and give a few away as thank yous before selling 'em for $109 (a bit pricey, if you ask me). On the other hand, it's a whole lot easier than trying to drill out the reflectors on your own. And you gotta make a lot of money to live well in North Cacalaca, what with the price of beer and pork rinds always going up.

Re: ebay stop an directional light

Keoke,
I noticed the same thing when they put them up there at $89 a pop. I personally think the tiny connectors on the back of the halogen lamps are too fragile and succeptible to moisture damage to consider. These will break-off at the first pull (as the original poster mentioned) or cargo snag. I was thinking of an alternative by using a small aftermarket running light housing. This would also allow the use of a more standard automotive light bulb.

Re: ebay stop an directional light

Curiously, I also recently received an article for Healey Marque on this subject, and it might be from one of you-all, but with the "street names" used on the BCF, your identity is protected... or at least obscured. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cowboy.gif

SHHHHH-Big Hly, there is a another way to do it usng an Australian Motocycle lamp. That design was done by someone in the "Healey Northwest Club" I will locate the article and post the designers name soon.---Keoke

OK here is the skinny: The author was"Peter Nankervis". Who wrote this article for "Hundreds & Thousands"and it was reprinted in the now defunct "Oil Rag" news letter of the Austin -Healey Club of Southern California in the August 2001 Issue. The title of the article is;"BN 1/2 Rear Turnsignal Conversion".

Re: ebay stop an directional light

guys. i like this conversion idea for obvious safety concerns, the ebay ones seem a bit pricey, havnt done mine yet but im thinking more on the line of addapting a conventional lamp housing,i agree with big healey the ones on ebay/hendrix wire wheels look a bit fragile what with that $1000.00 shelly jack flying around in the boot and all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

Re: ebay stop an directional light

Yeah, but considering that shelly jack is now worth a grand, the price for those little fragile lights seems way more reasonble. Besides, if you put in those little lights and can find your way to the Barrett Jackson auction, just imagine what the ferrari hat guy would pay for your car.
