TR4/4A Early TR4 Front Bumper Overriders

The barn find came without the overriders, but with a damaged front bumper. I sourced a used bumper and fitted it without the overriders. Now I have some time, I am trying to add the overriders to finish them off. I am having a problem with the hood contacting the top of the overrider. I presume that the hood nose is meant to end up behind the overrider when fully open. I have added some shim washers on the mounts which has improved it, but it still contacts. If I adjust the stay rod I get a gap between the overrider and the bumper bar. It is possible that the replacements are bent, but I have to live with that for now.

Could someone please post some pics showing how the early 4 hood looks around the bumper when fully open. Also one showing where the mounting bracket bolts to the front of the car.

Many thanks.

Larry, to the best of my knowledge the over-rider supports are not available from the normal suspects. I made a set from steel tubing.

The TR4 isn't handy but I found this pic in my archives.

I agree the overider supports should be fairly easy to fashion from stock tubing if replacements are not available.
