Early bn4 dipstick tube removal

My 57 2 port bn4 block is going to the hot tank tomorrow and I can't get the dipstick tube out. I know the later ones are threaded but I can't see any threads on mine. If I twist any harder I'm going to ruin it. I've tried head and penetrating oil. No luck. Help!
 
Just curios why remove it ???
 
I was told the hot tank would damage it. I've looked around and they can't be replaced. It's either copper or brass.

you ever had a problem like this ,I have never had that problem ??
 
I never had to remove the d/s tube, and I'm positive it is steel. Leave it in place__they're pressed in__before you ruin it.

Sounds like the guy giving you bad information is the dipstick... ;) ;)

This is the way that BN4 block came back from the hot-tank (here I'm washing it down with soap & water):

Thank you SOOOO much Randy! As the sun was setting last night I was certain it was brass colored but in the bright morning I think I may have been just seeing surface rust. When I scratch other parts it does indeed look steel. Time to clean it up!

Stick a magnet to it ;)
 
It never even occurred to me to check if it was steel or not. I was absolutely convinced it was some softer metal before I even began. Sometimes I need to remember to step back and look at the big picture...

Thanks again Randy. Your advice on several of my questions has been invaluable.
