Early BJ7 Hood [top] request

Does anyone out there in Healey land have an original early BJ7 hood (convertible top) .. the one with the toggle clamped rear window (not zippered) that they would allow a pattern to be made of? This is the only Healey model that Heritage Trim does not have an original pattern of. I have an original rear window assembly that came with the car but not the rest.

Cheers,
John

Hi John,

If you’re not concern about the condition of an original convertible top fabric, then I may have something you’re looking for.

I have a complete, but worn, convertible top that was original to my early-model BJ-7 with the latched rear window as described.

I also have a Moss reproduction with the latched rear window specification that was purchased new about 10 years ago. My issue with this item is that the interior color is in black unlike the grey/tan of the original. The top has yet to be installed. For your reference this item is available from Moss in the “Stayfast” fabric.

Let me know if I could help. GONZO

Gonzo,

This sounds perfect! Heritage Trim is just looking for something that could be used for a pattern so it matches the factory original. I will contact you privately to discuss the details.

Cheers,
John

Checked message. All is good but I'm unable to send you a reply to coordinate what you're suggesting. Please provide another e-mail adress. GONZO.

I installed an original BMC replacement top on my BJ7 a few years ago. I got it in the original box in 1983. It's installed but if I can help let me know.
