Early Birthday Present

My Birthday isn't for another month yet but I got my Birthday present early. I had not been looking to get an iPad since I have a MacBook Pro and didn't really "need" an iPad. However, B&H Photo was having a 24 hour blowout sale on the iPad Air. For one of their 24 hour sales they were selling a 128GB iPad Air that was both WiFi and Cellular (Sprint). They were selling this version for the same price as the 32 GB WiFi-only version sells for on the Apple Store. Plus, they included a nice Kensington case, a pack of screen protectors and a free 6-month subscription to "Parallels Access" at no additional cost.

The Parallels Access is very cool! You put an app on your iMac at home that you can turn on or off to allow you to access your home iMac from the iPad. The iPad has a corresponding app. When you run the App on the iPad from anywhere with internet access, viola, you access your iMac Desktop from your remote iPad and can run any program or access any file on your iMac from your iPad.

its call splash top you can connect a list of laptops I have two different ones I connect to
it even supports multiple screens"

im sure the app you have will be very helpful too
i like that it's an actual image of the lap top screen it's pretty quick too

I was a life-long PC guy until I bought my wife an iMac a few years ago. After playing with her's it started to grow on me and in 2011 I took the plunge and bought my own iMac. I will never ever go back to a PC! I still do have Windows 7 installed on my iMac to run a few windows-only programs I still use, but what is cool is, with a program called "Parallels," I can actually run both the Mac OS (Yosemite) and Windows (in my case Win 7) simultaneously! I just swipe my track pad and switch instantly between the two operating systems. I can also share files between the to seamlessly.

Is this a Mac application that gives a kind of "Windows" window while running your Mac OS? You have a Windows "window" on the Mac screen?

Or do you have to completely "switch screens" to move between the Mac and the Windows applications?

In other words, if I'm running Parallels, can I install Win7 and one non-MS Windows application, and use the Windows application while also seeing the Mac desktop?

What is the, Yosemite Transformation Pack software I'm reading about, merging it with W-8.1? Sounds a little odd coming from Apple. Isn't Mac a totally different platform? PJ
