TR2/3/3A Early 56 TR3 H6 Carbs, distributor vacuum advance/retard

56 TR3, Comm TS10193 has a plugged vacuum advance on the distributor. My Haynes book diagram shows the vacuum advance on the TR3 & 3A distributors, but I can't find any place on the carb or manifold where you would pull vacuum. BTW, I can't read the numbers on the distributor with it in the car, so I don't know if it is the correct one or not.
Did these cars come with vacuum advance or retard on the distributors?
Thanks in advance!

It's advance, not retard on the TR's. The fitting actually screws into a boss on the underside of the front carb. It's not a hose nipple...but a compression fitting. Only the front carb has the boss drilled out.

Thanks John, now I know where to look.

I may have some pictures if they might help. John is correct, advance only. Cheers, Mike
