E-brake helpful hints

Ok folks. I need some hints/help.
I've got my e-brake handle attached to the cable. From end of cable is attached at bracket, then again with mid-cable bracket. I've also got the rear connector attached to the bracket but can't get the lever pulled over enough to drop in the clevis pin. Do I need to remove the springs or is there another trick I'm missing?
thanks,
rich

Temporarily back off the shoe adjusters, that should give you just enough movement to drop the pin in. Andy.
