Dunk the Front End?

I bought a disk brake front end off of a 68 Midget to put on my Bugeye. It is covered in rust but otherwise sound. Does anybody know if there is any reason why I would not want to dip it? I am obviously going to replace the disks.
 
I have played a bit with electrolytic rust removal and agree with Jim that this would be a good way to go if you can get a container/tub big enough to immerse the parts in!

As another option, I've got a HF Blast Cabinet in the back of the shop that I'd be willing to loan out for a while. As I recall you've got a compressor. All you'd need is some blasting material i.e. glass beads. A plastic garbage can would be big enough to dunk A frame parts and pieces.Probably do one at a time. Either way we've got you covered.
 
When I take one apart, I remove the rubber pieces & drop everything else in my parts cleaner & leave them overnight before I sand blaast or repaint....
 
Thanks, guys - now that Christmas is over I will degrease the parts and figure out which method would work best. Jim, I will also consult you on rubber replacement for the A arms; my understanding is they are a pain to work with.

I was lucky and all went back together easily. You've got my number. Toughest part of basement remodel is almost done. Will be mudding bathroom tomorrow. A total PITA to fit new drywall around plumbing. Rest of drywall replacement in basement will be simple straight cuts 12" up from floor. I'm guessing February before Bugsy gets wheel bearings replaced.
