MGB Dual exhaust tips

When I bought my B it had and has a dual tip resonator installed. Evidently the baffles have shaken loose and it rattles loudly. I have been searching for an aftermarket replacement, but have not had any luck. Has anyone found a supplier of such a part. The pipe coming to it is 2".
Thanks,
Charlie

Might be worth a conversation with your local muffler shop.

I have a problem getting to a muffler shop. The little village where I live is quite a distance from any town large enough to have a dedicated muffler shop. We do have a tire shop that has a single bay that can do easy repairs and basic mufflers. I'll see if they have any suggestions.
Thanks!

a quick search suggests you might be able to get the tips or a muffler even on Amazon. maybe the shop could install it?

Update on the muffler. I talked to the owner of a shop that does some muffler installation. He said that they could replace the resonator and keep the same tips on the pipe. I left the car, came back and picked up my MGB. On the way home I noticed that the sound was louder, but not terribly so. When I checked under the car, I found that the shop had just eliminated the resonator and installed a straight pipe from the larger muffler straight back to the dual tips. When I went back to the shop I talked to the mechanic who had installed the pipe. He said that he didn't[t have a resonator so he just eliminated it. He said to drive it for awhile and he would order a small muffler/resonator and if I wanted it that he would install it at a no labor cost. I am trying to decide if I like the sound. It does remind me of my big Healey with a more throaty sound. I may just keep it like it is. I'll update the forum if I change for the smaller muffler.

Your muffler guy is a Jack-leg. Get proper stock or after-market MGB rear section from Moss then and take it and the car somewhere more professional to have it installed. If Oriental doesn’t have a real muffler shop take the car to New Bern.
