Driving lights electrical question

Hey All,
Installing Moss driving lights on my BN6 - onto a badge
bar - and have a question. I have connected the hot lead to
the light and it appears that when I close it up, the reflector housing grounds to the driving light shell
which I believe would be a good thing but as the actual
bulb has a fitting for a hot and ground, the grounding
of the reflector housing to the shell basically negates
the intended ground. Result, no light !!! I don't know
if I am explaining myself well but trying to figure out
how to wire this thing.

If there is continuity between one of the receptacle's leads and the case and between the case and the badge bar then you have a good ground and bringing hot to the other lead should give you a working light.

Try testing between the case and the battery negative with an ohm meter and some long test leads--perhaps the bar is isolated by corrosion, etc. Ground can be so elusive....
 
To do this properly will require a ground conductor routed from the pin on thelamp receptacle to a chassis ground on the car. I believe there is one on the wheel arch inside theengine compartment that can be used to construct a dedicated ground.-FWIW---Keoke
