Driving Light Brackets for Healey 100

I've been watching for a BN 1 or BN2 car to buy. I'm liking the looks of no bumpers and low mounted driving lights, Question: is there a special bracket that mounts the lights, or are they mounted directly to the bumper bracket ? Just curious.

Re: stupid healey 100 question

There are brackets; they do not mount to the bumper brackets (although of course you could modify the brackets and probably make it work if you were determined enough).

I bought some off-the-shelf driving light brackets from one of the Healey parts suppliers, but didn't like them at all. I ended up asking around for photos of bumperless cars with driving lights mounted, and found a guy who had had some good-looking brackets made. He got another pair made for me and I am quite happy with them. See my signature photo.

I can get you in touch with the guy who got some made for me, but I'm not sure if he would be willing to go back and get another set made. What you may need is some good photos that would allow you to get a set made locally. PM me with an email address and I'll send you a zipped file with photos.

Hi Reid,
What do your light brackets attach to?

Here's one sold by one of the UK vendors. It includes a "towing eye" as well as part of the light bracket.

Those are the ones I tried at first, and thought they looked awful.

Re: stupid healey 100 question

I do too. It looks as thought they were designed to be used on cars still with bumpers. The extra clearance on s "nude" car is too much and looks dreadful.

I'd planned on making my own, and this confirms it.

Do you have plans for the brackets, or are there any on the US AH Club site/

Re: stupid healey 100 question

Looks like you could redrill those brackets and move them back a little...I don't trust that tow eye,it looks frail. Also too close to the wiring for the light.
