Nice picture, Steve. Back in October, 1980 I had just gotten my '67 BJ8 going after complete engine and transmission overhauls, and my wife, 15 month old daughter, and I drove out to California, dropped our dog off at my folk's house, and headed up California 1. We had a great trip, and I have a repeat on my bucket list. Do I understand this is your first-ever trip in the car?

Yes, i picked up the car in San Francisco, drove around the block a couple of times to get a feel for it and hit the highway. It was a beautiful drive, but a bit of an endurance event by the last few hours of the 12-hour drive. For the future, I'll break it into 2 days.
