Driving a Fuel Cell Vehicle

Tonight I got to drive a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Chevy Equinox. The photo is in my driveway before getting in to drive. It has potent acceleration, no shifting, and a very mild whirring sound while driving. This vehicle is valued at $265,000, making it the most expensive car I have ever driven, but it did not really feel much different than any Equinox. I know that this is at least one generation removed from the most current GM technology, but this was still a very cool experience.

Hydrogen is less explosive than gasoline. If the Hindenburg had been a Hydrogen explosion, it would have been a bomb like explosion. Supposedly the coating of the canvas shell was similar in chemical composition to solid rocket fuel used by NASA.

Very cool Dave! I too like this technology... wonder how long it will take to be common place in the car market?

Not that I know enough about the electric cars, but I have to wonder how much savings there will be in fossil fuels since the electricity still has to be generated at a station.... just spouting off
