Driver's Seat Hinge for Back Rest

Hello,

I have a broken hinge on the driver's seat, so the back does not stay in place. I found out it's hard to drive when fully reclined. :driving:

Any help finding the part greatly appreciated.

I remember in days gone by making a 2X4 brace off the back seat.
I know, not a good choice on a Jag.
However, year and model would help in a search.
I know a guy runs a Jag wrecking yard back east.

What? Isn't everyone clairevoyant?

Sorry, just kidding: 1992 VandenPlas, "fawn" interior trim (light beige).

Thanks.

Call Jack White 540-743-4037
West Virginia, or something like that. You will get his answering machine, leave a message with what you're looking for and he'll call you back.
I have gotten a bunch of bits, including the original Solex carbs with lines for my 2.4L Jag.

I have used Jack for something like 30 years. This is a bit newer than he usually carries, but call him anyway. He probably has a lead if nothing else...

I just fixed that problem on my new 68 coupe. I removed the hinge & cleaned it. I found there is a curved strip hinge that is attatched to the housing.
I used to work at a shop so I took it there. The hinge is spot welded to the housing & it broke loose. We pushed it back into place & mig welded it. I reinstalled the seat today & it works brilliantly.
