I shouldn't even be asking this question, but my enqiring mind wants to know - will the engine/trans from an MGB drop into a Morris Minor/Traveller? I know, I know, I SAID I shouldn't even be asking but I can't help myself!

Sure- and so can a 454 Chevy engine but I wouldn't want to do the major body mods required for either. (Sorry for being a wise-a$$)
A Datsun 1500 fits really nicely with just a tiny bit of body mods.

The Minor trans (designed for the A series engine) is much smaller than the MGB trans that's designed for the BMC B series engine.
ALso, the 1800 is a fair bit longer than any A series engine and you really can't move the Minor rack forward.

So this would require major trans tunnel and firewall surgery.

Ok, that was exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for!! Thanks guys...

Been following a thread here: In it they discuss some more "British" (and therefore less obvious to us) swaps

I know my MGB will pull my little boat with no worries and I've been contemplating trading it for a 68 Morris Minor Traveller with a 1098 in it. Worried about being able to pull my boat.

Boat is 9'8, basically the same size as a PWC/Waverunner/Jetski......doesn't weigh much

I pulled a 14' "Force5" sailboat with my 948 Sprite for several years- no problem at all!!
